HistoryMount Esk Post Office opened on 1st February 1874. A postal receiving office had been open from 1873. Mount Esk Post Office was renamed Esk Post Office by 1881. From June 1900 mail from the district was sorted at the Esk Post Office and there were plans to erect a larger post office. In February 1946 a switch was installed at the Esk Post Office which would allow for a fire alarm to be sounded in the event of a fire occurring at night. In July 1951 the Deputy Director of Posts and Telegraphs announced that a stamp selling machine would be installed at the Esk Post Office.
