HistoryThe Royal Bank of Queensland was built between 1901 and 1917 in Main Street and moved in 1917 to its current location in Railway Street. In 1917 the Royal Bank of Queensland and the Bank of North Queensland merged to form the Bank of Queensland Ltd. In mid 1917 the bank building including the brick and concrete strongroom were relocated to Railway Street. In 1922 Lowood's Bank of Queensland merged with the National Bank of Australasia. It operated as a bank until 1986. Since 2015, it has been tenanted by Lowood Dental.
