The Cairn Hill Creamery opened between 1897 and 1898 and operated until 1903. The creamery reportedly used about 1140 litres of milk a day and was the largest of three creameries churning dairy products in Lowood. It was then converted to a general store owned by Henry Kitzleman. In 1925, the shop was taken over by Albert Profke who ran it until he retired in 1963. Today the property is divided into three apartments with a furnished shed in the backyard.
