HistoryBuilt in 1907 and known as the Metropole Hotel it was one of the largest hotels outside of Brisbane. The Licensee in 1908 was Jack Kennedy. The Metropole Hotel was destroyed in a fire that burnt most of Esk's businesses in 1932. The hotel was rebuilt and opened the following year. Renovations were carried out in the 1970's to modernise it with the 1930's decor being retained. The building has operated as a hotel, guesthouse, restaurant and antiques shop. The name Staging Post Inn was removed between 2013 and 2014 and replaced with Esk Antique Centre.
