The Glamorganvale district was discovered by Alan Cunningham and John Oxley in 1846 while exploring The Brisbane River. The name came from a Welsh man, Mr. Walter, because the valley looked a lot like his home country Gamorgan, the main settlers were German, English, and Welsh, who came in the 1850s and 1860s. The early settlers were farmers.
