The Lyceum Hall originally served as the School of Arts from 1886 to 1974 before it was handed over to the Esk Shire Council. Silent movies shows were held in 1914 and "talkies" were introduced in 1931. Euchre was held upstairs and many dances and balls took place over the years. It burned down on the 7th May 2010.
