People & Families
DESCRIPTION
Description
Some early people settlers of the Somerset region include the Archer brothers, McConnel family, Bigge brothers, and North Family. The 1860’s saw a rise in people moving into the area due to increasing immigration by German families and a change in the Queensland Government’s methods of administering its Crown Lands. There have been many waves of immigration to the region and Somerset is now home to people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds.
