HistoryBuilt in 1909 with a 250 seating capacity, the Lyceum Hall served as a School of Arts, dance hall, movie theatre and hosted the Esk Show Ball and wedding receptions. Owned by Somerset Regional Council, it was destroyed by fire on May 7th 2010. It was home to the town’s choir and they lost their costumes, musical instruments and stage sets in the fire. It was a significant loss to the Esk community and a Memorial Tribute Book was produced so people could record their memories of the 101 year old Hall.
