Government & Emergency Services
DESCRIPTION
Description
Government and Emergency Services have played a key role in keeping the Somerset region's towns safe and running smoothly. There have been a number of shire councils in charge of different areas in the region. Lowood Shire Council merged with Esk Shire Council in 1917. In 2008 Kilcoy and Esk Shire Councils were amalgamated to form the Somerset Regional Council.
The main towns in the region contain police, ambulance and other emergency services.
